2025 Southwestern Regional IGP & FH Championship

The Southwestern Regional Board is pleased to announce that the 2025 Southwestern Regional IGP & FH Championship has been approved to take place from February 27 to March 2, 2025, in Marana, Arizona. This championship will be hosted by the Southern Arizona Schutzhund Club and the Danubius Club, and will feature USCA/GSSCC/CWDF Licensed Judge Andrea Duggan-Jantzen.

This event will bring together the region's top working dog teams, with the IGP Championship as the main event and, for the first time in the Southwest Region, the FH Championship for tracking enthusiasts. The focus will be on creating a supportive and enjoyable competition experience that showcases the dedication and skill of every participant.

Thursday, February 27, 2025:

• - FH Draw (6:00 PM) – Location TBA

Friday, February 28, 2025:

• - FH Championship starts at 8:00 AM – Location to be announced at the draw
• - IGP practice at the trial field (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
• - Helper tryout and/or demonstration (4:00 PM)
• - Draw night and BBQ dinner (5:00 PM)

Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2, 2025:

• - IGP competition begins at 7:00 AM (Tracking, Obedience, and Protection phases)
• - Regional Meeting: Saturday, 5:00 PM – Location TBA
• - Awards Ceremony: After the trial on Sunday

Location Details

Primary Venue: 38582 S Rans Ln, Marana, AZ

Note: The competition field is located near an active airport runway at Twin Hawks Airpark. To ensure safety, there may be restrictions on vehicle access. A traffic coordinator will be on-site to direct vehicles and limit trips in and out of the area as needed.

The competition field is private property and will be fully equipped for both obedience and protection phases. Private practice opportunities on the competition field will be available in the months leading up to the event.

Tracking Fields

The tracking field location will be disclosed during the Thursday draw. The fields consist of plowed dirt, and while conditions may vary with weather, every effort will be made to ensure fairness across all tracking phases. (Pictures attached.)

Accommodations

Recommended pet-friendly hotels off I-10 at the Cortaro exit include:
- La Quinta Inn & Suites NW Tucson Marana – Free breakfast, WiFi, outdoor pool, and pet-friendly rooms with a small fee.
- Days Inn & Suites Marana – Free parking, pool, and pet-friendly accommodations.

Veterinary Services

For emergency veterinary care, the Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center (open 24/7) will be available.
