Did you know that Nathaniel Roque is not only USCA's long time Director of Judges and 2x SW Regional IGP3 Champion, but has previously also served as USCA's Vice President, Executive Board Member at Large, SW Regional Director, and Helper Committee Chair?
As a USCA/SV Judge, Nathaniel has judged over 30 Championships, from regionals to nationals, all the way to world championships.
As a trainer & competitor, Nathaniel has participated in more than 80 trials since 1993. He has trained and titled 11 dogs to various levels of SchH, IPO and IGP. Currently Nathaniel is one of only 3 teaching level helpers in the SW Region.
Nathaniel Roque is also the founder & training director of the Southwest Working Dog Association (SWDA), where he has helped the members earn more than 250 titles on their dogs since 2000, and coached multiple new handlers to reach USCA's prestigious SchH/IPO/IGP 3 Club status. With Nathaniel's leadership, the SWDA co-hosted a North American Championship, 3 Regional Championships, and conducts club level trials yearly since their inception.
When not spending time with his dogs or dog sport related projects, Nathaniel works in the field of Neonatal Intensive Care as Clinical Coordinator / Educator / Supervisor / Clinician. He is a Respiratory Care Practitioner with clinical skills of ventilator management, intubation, UAC, UVC, PAL, PIC Lines and needle aspiration. He has more than 30 years of experience in acute respiratory care and 25 years as clinical Coordinator/Supervisor. Other areas include the management of clinical staff, budget and research for neonatal (NICU), pediatrics (PICU), and major services like surgical support, transport services, high risk deliveries, clinical education and life support education (ACLS,PALS,BCLS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E.) supervision at 3 Los Angeles based hospitals. Nathaniel holds a California Vocational Teaching Certificate and he's an Adjunct Clinical Professor at El Camino College and California College for Health Science.
