We are the Southwestern Region of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USCA). USCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the German Shepherd Dog’s working heritage by hosting conformation shows, breed surveys, Schutzhund/IGP and herding trials.
The USCA is a proud member club of the World Union of German Shepherd Dog Clubs (WUSV) and the American Working Dog Federation (AWDF). Through these memberships, we offer our valued members:

We are currently accepting written bids for the 2025 SW Regional Conformation Show and the 2025 SW Regional IGP Championship. This is an incredible opportunity to showcase your club's passion and dedication, whether it is IGP sport or conformation show.
These championships provide a very important platform where the region can come together to showcase their best, while celebrating the spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and community.

Is your club ready to host an event? Have you already secured a date and a judge? Yes. Most clubs will welcome other working breeds like Rottweiler, Malinois, Dobermann, Rottweiler, Giant Schnauzer, Boxer, Dutch Shepherd, etc. However, not all dogs are suitable for the sport and are generally tested before acceptance.
Great news! Our Region is always looking for enthusiastic and athletic dog trainers (on any levels) that express strong desire and commitment to become a Protection Helper. Reach out to the nearest club to learn if they are recruiting. You can also send us an email and we will direct you to the right teaching helper or a club that is looking to train someone new.
There is room for everyone! Become a valued member of the SW Region by volunteering at our events! You can learn a ton about the sport and its dynamics before getting your next dog.
